Hardwood Floor Installation Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain :- Installing Hardwood Floors Doesn't Have to Be Difficult !

Choosing to install Hardwood Floors oneself can potentially save you lots of money over the course of your home's lifetime. However, if you're not really sure what you're doing, improper installation and preparation can result in buckling and warping, both of which can ruin expensive flooring that may otherwise remain incredibly durable and beautiful for your children s and grandchildren to grow on. Even if you are installing it yourself, you should hire a professional to make sure that the floor is laid correctly, that the boards are properly centered and that no gaps appear where they aren't supposed to. If you don't have a lot of experience laying hardwoods yourself, then hiring a professional installer that has plenty of experience laying Hardwood can really save you time and money in the future.

Nails and staples

One major consideration with Hardwood Floor Installation is moisture. Nails and staples are great for holding down a floor, but they are completely useless when it comes to holding in moisture. You need to make sure that you use good quality nails and staples, or else you risk ruining your floor. The staples themselves should also be strong enough to handle the amount of moisture you expect to encounter during the life of the floor.

Once you have your new Hardwood Flooring installed, there are a few other things you should consider for the initial installation. For one, make sure you wipe down the floors with a mild solution of detergent and water (washing is fine). This helps remove any dust or dirt that may have gotten on your previous floors while you were installing your new ones. It is also a good idea to vacuum the old floors after you are done installing them so that there is absolutely no dust or residue remaining. If you are putting down new flooring, it is a good idea to sweep or vacuum up all the loose dirt before laying down your new floor.

When installing over concrete :

You will most likely need some sort of a penetrant to aid the installation. Most concrete slab floors come pre-fabricated with a penetrant but if yours does not, you can purchase one at a local hardware store. A penetrating penetrant is something that actually goes inside the concrete and fills the voids between it and the real wood, or tile, of your subfloor. This penetrant is most often a rubber or plastic agent that is applied using an adhesive. This penetrant is especially helpful when installing over concrete that experiences excess moisture because it actually brings out the hidden bonding of the wood.

When installing over existing wood flooring, you will need to add a vapor barrier between the floor and the subfloor to keep any moisture from building up. If your new floor is going over concrete, you will need to make sure that you build up the subfloor so that moisture doesn't build up and seep into the room below. Typically this means adding a vapor barrier that is a solid insulating membrane similar to fiberglass insulation.

Easy to find

Hardwood flooring installation is pretty easy as long as you follow the manufacturer's recommended steps. Most people prefer to install in their own garage since it is usually easy to do and can also be done on your lunch break if necessary. You may want to contact your hardwood manufacturer to see what size boards you need to start off with. It's easy to find cheap square foot wood flooring at your local home improvement store such as Home Depot or Lowes. You may also want to check out other garage stores like Home Depot and pick up some additional samples.
